Stephen George Krader
Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Stephen George Krader Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Stephen George Krader. Stephen played for the Knights from 1978 - 1980, he graduated in 1981 from North Penn. The Krader award is given annually to a college bound North Penn senior who most displays the enthusiasm, work ethic and leadership qualities that were hallmarks of Stephen’s career with the Knights.
Stephen Krader was a two way starter for the Knights and is credited by his coaches and team mates alike as being a charismatic motivator who led the team from a long string of losing seasons into the successful program that it’s since become. He was a 1981 graduate who went on to play for the University of Tennessee before appearing in several TV commercials and starting and managing his own successful business. Stephen was tragically murdered in his home in Las Vegas on March, 1994 at the age of 30 and although the police had a suspect, no arrest was ever made in his slaying. The scholarship foundation is run and supported by Stephen’s family, friends, former teammates, and the North Penn football family.
